QHY8-L is the successor to the QHYCCD famous best-selling model - QHY8.
The new L version is lighter and consumes 26% less power than its predecessor — QHY8. Using the same Sony high sensitivity, ultra-low dark current sensor, the QHY8-L continues the legend of its predecessor in collecting photons from the deep space.
Tip: Due to the ultra-low dark current nature of the sensor, dark frame is deemed excessive for some astrophotographers. Bias frames and hot pixel map, which are obtained in seconds only, are sufficient to remove the electrical noises.
