Shipping & Returns

We strive to be the most customer-satisfactorily astronomy equipment boutique. We want you to buy from us with peace of mind, knowing that we cater to your needs, providing professional equipment advice given our professional astronomy background, following up closely your orders till they reach your doorstep and standby for any inquiry you might have using the equipment. We call this the hassle-free experience.

When you shop for astrophotography equipment, we want you to first think of Cyclops Optics. We do our best to provide hassle-less shopping experience for you. We want you to receive your order as quickly as possible and use them right away out of the box. If anything goes wrong, we are always here and we will remedy as quickly as we could. 

In short, we want you to have a peace of mind when you shop with Cyclops Optics. 

Returns & Refunds Policy

Order cancellation

1. For cancellation request submitted within 5 days of order placement, full amount will be refunded via the original payment method. 

2. For cancellation request submitted after 5 days of order placement, there are two refund options available:

A. Full amount to be refunded in the form of store credit which has no expiry date which customer can use for future purchases.

B. Refund to customer's original payment method less handling fee of 4.4%

The above applicable for orders consist of both in-stock & pre-order items.

3. Order cancellation and refund not applicable for custom made or special request item(s).

All the requests below have to be raised within 14 days after receiving the ordered items.

Received the wrong item?

We will send you the correct item immediately. Postage is ours. Depending on the value of item, we might kindly request you to keep it or we will request for a return at our own cost.

Item(s) damaged when received?

If external damage to the packaging is visible, please refuse to accept the shipment from the courier and inform us immediately. If damage is only seen after unpacking, please keep the original packaging and bring the shipment to the post office (if shipped via Hong Kong Post including air registered mail, e-Express and EMS) for damage assessment.

We will ship you a brand new item(s) after the insurance claim is processed and we will take care of the shipping cost.

We would suggest using premium couriers such as FedEx or UPS if national courier was used. If original courier is used, there will be no extra cost. The upgrade cost to using FedEx or UPS is available upon inquiry. Customers are also advised to fully insure their orders.

Dead on arrival?

We have 0 dead-on-arrival case since we started business from 2011. We checked if the item is functioning before we ship them. In case our record is to be broken, you can be rest assured we will cover the shipping cost to send you another unit. Again, depending on the value of item, we might kindly request you to keep it or we will request for a return at our own cost.

Not compatible as advertised?

If the item is said to be compatible with an equipment that you intend to use with and yet it doesn't work together. We will recall the item and refund you for the item cost and shipping you paid plus the return shipping charges. 

Repair required within warranty period

Customers are responsible for the return shipping between customers and Cyclops Optics. We will take care of all the logistics costs incurred during the repair process between Cyclops Optics and respective manufacturers.

How long will I get my refund?

For incompatible item, we will refund you as soon as we receive the item. 

If you need to return an item, please Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.

Shipping

We ship worldwide.

When you checkout your order, you could get a quote of shipping charge depending on the shipping option you choose. When you place an order, you can check the postage for the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Our default shipper is SF Express for Australia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and U.S.A. 

Hong Kong SpeedPost (EMS) serves the rest of the world. HK SpeedPost's delivery time frame is on par with DHL and FedEx on most locations. 

We are also offering FedEx for international shipping. We receive 35% discount from FedEx off its retail price and we pass all the savings to you.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full 500 gramme, i.e. 510 g will be rounded to 1.0 kg and 450 g will be rounded to 500 g which is the nominal weight.
