Cyclops Optics Limited (“Cyclops”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Return & Refund Policy.

We are based in Hong Kong and comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) (“PDPO”). Where applicable, we also apply internationally recognised data-protection principles.

Cyclops does not store full card numbers. We may receive limited transaction data such as payment status, card brand, last four digits, and transaction references.

To protect customers, prevent fraud, and defend chargebacks or disputes, we may request or collect additional verification information, including:

  • government-issued identification documents;

  • proof of address;

  • selfies or identity verification images;

  • unboxing videos or diagnostic videos for high-value items;

  • evidence related to delivery, condition, or disputes.

Such data is used strictly for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and compliance purposes.


3) Purposes for Which We Use Personal Data

Personal data may be used by us in and outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for the following purposes:

  • processing orders, payments, deliveries, returns, and warranties;

We do not sell personal data.

  • order, invoice, and accounting records: up to 7 years;

  • customer service correspondence: up to 24 months;

  • fraud prevention and verification data (ID, selfies, unboxing videos): typically 90 days, extended up to 12 months where disputes, chargebacks, or warranty claims are active or reasonably anticipated;

  • cookies and analytics data: according to tool configuration or user settings.

Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer required.


8) Data Security

All information is stored using reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.

Payment transactions are encrypted using SSL or equivalent technologies.

Despite our efforts, transmission over the internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


9) Data Transfers

Personal data may be stored or processed in Hong Kong and in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring personal data outside Hong Kong.


10) Your Rights Under PDPO

Under the PDPO, you have the right to:

  • request correction of inaccurate personal data;

  • ascertain our policies and practices relating to personal data;

  • object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing.

We may charge a reasonable fee for processing data access requests, as permitted by law.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the PDPO.
